Meet Charley

A Black Trans Elder on The Future of The Movement

Bio

Charley Burton is a native of Charlotteville VA.

​

He is an activist, with over 10 years experience representing and advocating for the Trans Community.

​

Charley's work is focused on the mental, spiritual and emotional health of Black Transmen.


His work also includes empowering and activating Allies in support of the Trans community. 

​

Charley has received certification as a trainer from the Transgender Training Institute and is a certified in Mental Health First Aid.

Appointed by Governor Northam to the Commonwealth of Virginia's LGBTQ+ Advisory Committee.

Founder, Transforming Futures

Founder, Diversity in Recovery, a 12-step recovery space for people in the LGBTQ/BIPOC communities and their allies.
